I am working with Alina to study the effect of p53 mutations on p53 dynamics and cell fate following exposure to ionizing radiation.  I hope that we will be able to use what we learn to develop radiation fractionation regimens that maximize the therapeutic index of radiation treatment by selectively targeting cells with mutant p53 while sparing those with wild-type p53.  I am also interested in understanding the contribution of different baseline cellular characteristics (e.g. baseline levels of DNA damage, intracellular pH, redox status, and oxygen levels) to the observed heterogeneity in the cellular response to ionizing radiation.

Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, running, and baking.
